Medical disclaimer
Quieter Nights is general information about snoring and sleep apnea. It isn’t a diagnosis, a treatment plan, or a substitute for seeing a physician or dentist.
Sleep apnea
Only a physician can diagnose sleep apnea, usually with a sleep test they order. If someone has seen you stop breathing or gasp in your sleep, or you nod off during the day or while driving, talk to a physician soon. Don’t drive drowsy.
Snoring devices
Over-the-counter snoring mouthpieces are FDA-cleared to reduce snoring in adults. They are not cleared to treat sleep apnea, and they aren’t for anyone under 18 or with loose teeth, gum disease or some other dental and jaw conditions. Follow the maker’s instructions, and stop and see a dentist if a device causes pain or changes your bite.
What the tools do
The checklist, mouthpiece matcher and pattern finder give general guidance based on your answers. They can’t diagnose anything and they don’t rule anything out.
No doctor-patient relationship
